DJI Matrice 350 RTK vs DJI M300 RTK – Key Differences
Upon its release, the DJI Matrice 300 RTK was touted as “a new standard for the commercial drone industry”. And that’s exactly what it became. Combining greater durability with improved flight performance and a range of specialised features, the M300 RTK became the go-to drone for numerous commercial drone applications. With the latest flagship upgrade, the DJI Matrice 350 RTK introduces some new updates and features. Read on to learn the main differences between the M300 RTK and M350 RTK.
DJI M350 RTK vs DJI M300 RTK – key upgrades
Many of the shining features of the DJI M300 RTK have been carried over to the DJI M350 RTK, such as its robust design, multi-payload support, and high endurance. But there have also been some key upgrades, which are detailed as follows.
Ingress Protection (IP) rating
The M300 RTK is rated IP45, meaning it is properly protected against solid objects greater than 1 mm and jets of water, limited ingress permitted. Upgraded to an IP55 tolerance, the M350 RTK comes with a higher protection against solid objects. Both drones have a wind-speed resistance of 12 m/s, and can operate in -20°C to 50°C temperatures. Here’s a quick overview of their IP rating differences:
DJI M350 RTK (IP55) | DJI M300 RTK (IP45) |
---|---|
Solids: Protection against a solid object greater than 1mm (such as screws, wires). Liquids: Protected against low pressure jets of water from any angle. |
Solids: Protected against dust (limited ingress of dust permitted, not harmful). Liquids: Protected against low pressure jets of water from any angle. |
Controller
The DJI M350 RTK comes with the DJI RC Plus smart controller, an upgrade over the M300 RTK's Smart Controller Enterprise. Fortunately, the RC Plus is now compatible with the M300 RTK, so you can order it separately and get the benefits of this RC controller with your current M300 RTK drone. Here are the key specification differences between these controllers:

Battery System
The maximum flight time for the M300 RTK and M350 RTK remains the same – up to 55 minutes without payload– but the M350 RTK’s new TB65 Intelligent Flight Battery now has a 400 cycle lifespan compared to 200 cycles for the M300 RTK’s TB60 batteries. The new TB65 batteries can be used with the DJI M300 RTK, following a firmware update.
The M350 RTK also comes with a TB65 intelligent battery station, which can also be used to charge the M300 RTK’s TB60 batteries. This station includes:
- 8x TB65 Battery Ports
- 4x WB37 Battery Ports
- 1x USB-A Charging Port
- 1x USB-C Maintenance Port
- 1x USB-C Charging Port
This new battery station also provides multiple charging modes:
- Standard Mode – each pair is charged to 100% in sequence, 60 min from 0 to 100%
- Ready-to-Fly Mode – each pair is charged to 90% in sequence and kept at 90%, 30 min from 20 to 90%
- Storage Mode – each pair is charged and kept at 50%
New Arm Lock Indicator
The DJI M350 RTK comes with an arm lock detection function to avoid the risk of flying with unlocked arm sleeves, improving overall flight safety.
Enhanced FPV camera
Both of these drones have a built-in FPV camera, but the M350 RTK has increased resolution as well as night-vision for safer night flight. Here are the FPV specifications for each:
